My name is Nicholas Teti Jr., you can call me Nick. 

Before I ever painted a room for a living, I was painting with watercolors. Art was my first language as far back as I can remember. It gave me a way to turn silence into something beautiful — to take something blank and bring it to life.

But the real story behind this company… it starts before I was ever born.

It starts with a 16-year-old boy from a small village in Calabria, Italy — my father, whom I’m named after.

After World War II, he left everything he knew — his home, his family, his country — and set sail on the Andrea Doria to America with nothing but the clothes on his back and an unshakable belief that hard work would mean something in America. Tough as nails like no one I have ever seen in this life, he didn’t speak English. He didn’t have a dollar in his pocket. But he had heart. He had pride. And he had the courage to start over.

That boy became my hero.

He proudly joined the United States Marines. He built a life. And he raised a family with the kind of values most people only talk about these days — integrity, grit, and doing the job right, even when no one’s watching. He used to tell me, “People will forget your name before they forget how you made them feel.”

When he tragically passed away, far too young at the age of 50, leaving behind his wife and five kids, I knew I couldn’t let those lessons die with him.
That’s why I started Custom Color Interiors — to carry his legacy forward.
That’s why our logo carries the colors of the Italian flag — a quiet tribute to the man who made everything possible for me and my family.

This company isn’t just about paint. It’s about care. It’s about detail. It’s about walking into someone’s home — someone’s life — and leaving it better than we found it.

I didn’t build this business to chase money. I built it to give families what I had growing up — a home that felt warm, clean, beautiful… loved.
